Our
school serves a small rural community close to the Williamtown
RAAF Base in the Lower Hunter Valley.
Our school is well resourced with additional funds from the
Priority Schools Funding Program (PSFP), supporting our literacy
and numeracy strategies. Williamtown PS works closely with the
community to provide the best learning environment for all
students. We believe in nurturing the whole child to maximise
student outcomes. Our students learn best when they feel safe
and happy, when they have some control over their learning, when
they are allowed to take risks and when they take ownership of
their behaviour.
We encourage students to "AIM HIGH" and
do the best they can. As a staff,
we constantly strive to improve our teaching practice so we are
able to provide quality education and a meaningful curriculum.
At WPS we have a variety of
academic, cultural, sporting and social
programs which cater to the individual needs of all our
students. We have Literacy Groups with
extra professional or para-professional support in each session,
Stage Math Groups, choir, drama and a "Green Gang",
our environmentally active group. Students also participate in a
wide range of sporting opportunities.
Being a small school we are able
to build good relationships with all our students to support
them in their learning and growing. Please
